Juggling Life

Juggling Life

Sundays—what a day. Somehow, they always end up being my busiest, but I try my hardest to squeeze in some calm. You know, the kind of calm where I can sit down, make a plan, and feel like I’ve got my life somewhat together before Monday shows up uninvited.

Last week, I tackled something I’d been avoiding for weeks: contacting a new hospital to continue my treatment for ulcerative colitis. Since I’ve moved four hours away, I can’t stay with my old hospital, and let me tell you, the thought of starting over was… not my idea of fun. Managing health stuff is hard enough without adding language barriers and unfamiliar systems into the mix. But, after a lot of procrastination and a mini pep talk from myself to myself, I sent that email. And honestly? I’m proud of myself.

The hospital replied with some not-so-great news—they’re not sure they can take me on because of ongoing doctor strikes. Cue the momentary panic. But instead of spiraling, I reminded myself: I’ve got this. I sent them the documents they needed, and now I’m researching backup options. It’s not ideal, but hey, life’s all about figuring it out as we go, right?

This Week’s Big Three

This week is all about balance and preparation. I’m focusing on three main goals:

  1. Continue contacting hospitals. Follow up with the current one while reaching out to backups. One way or another, this will work out.
  2. Prepare for my trip home. Time to pack, organize gifts for family and friends, and get my space in order so I can come back to a stress-free apartment.
  3. Work on my sleep routine. Baby steps toward building consistency and better habits. Rested and energized—that’s the dream!

Hydration: My Nemesis
Let’s talk about staying hydrated. You’d think drinking water would be simple, right? Wrong. Some days, I get to bedtime and realize my hydration for the day has consisted of… exactly nothing. (Unless tea counts, which it should, because it’s mostly water with personality.)

This week, I’m determined to do better. Water, tea, squash—I’m pulling out all the stops. I might even download one of those reminder apps that buzzes every hour with a cheery “Drink water!” We’ll see. If I manage to make it to Friday properly hydrated, someone hand me a medal.

The Chaos of Packing

Packing for my trip home has officially begun, and let me tell you, the gift-buying part is a whole event. Every time I pick something up, I immediately second-guess it. “Will they like it? Is this even useful? Do I have room in my suitcase for this?” (Spoiler: No, but I’m bringing it anyway.)

Add to that the fact that I’m determined to clean and organize my apartment before I leave because Future Me deserves to come home to a tidy space. It’s a lot, but I keep telling myself it’ll all be worth it when I’m finally on the plane.

Little Wins Keep Me Going

Last November, I joined the Day by Day Club challenge, where we celebrated three wins every day. It was such a wholesome experience. The members were so encouraging—whenever I shared a struggle, they’d jump in with words that felt like a warm hug. Seeing their ups and downs reminded me we’re all just figuring it out, and that’s okay.

Since then, I’ve kept the habit of looking for little wins. Even on tough days, there’s always something worth celebrating—like drinking more water than yesterday or getting through my to-do list without losing my mind.

Mantra of the Week

“I am building the life I want, one small action at a time.”
It’s a good reminder that progress doesn’t have to be huge or flashy—it just has to keep moving forward.

Let’s Do This!

This week is shaping up to be busy, but I’m excited for what’s ahead. Whether it’s sorting out hospitals, packing my bags, or drinking my weight in tea, I’m ready to tackle it all with a smile (and maybe a bit of chaos).

What about you? How are you preparing for the week ahead? Let’s chat in the comments—or over on Instagram if you want to share your wins or swap packing tips.

Here’s to a week full of progress, hydration, and just a little bit of laughter!
